This blog will trace the progress towards my new server, enhanced with TechnoQube(TM) technology.
For those who don't know of the TechnoQube(TM) enhancement, it consists of a 7 lb bag of LEGO's, glossy black spray paint, and a lot of super glue. Maybe LEDs controlled by an Arduino if I'm feeling fancy. I was thinking of having them flicker whenever someone made a request to my site, or served a certain page. Anyway, it might be a cool feature.

The real hardware consists of the following:

  • Mini ITX: ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard
  • Quad-core: AMD A8-3850 Llano 2.9GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core
  • 8GB DDR3: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
  • SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F60GB3A-BK 2.5" 60GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)SPARKLE ATX-350PN-B204 350W ATX 12V 2.0 Power Supply - OEM
  • 2TB HDD

However, the real power comes from the LEGO's. I might do some neon green matrix stenciling for kicks!

Edit: Server is complete, but unused at the moment.
